Sales Management Doesn't Need To Be A Mystery

Sales management is difficult. You have pressure from above to deliver results. And, you have pressure from below to help your people succeed. You are stuck in the middle.

Finding resources and advice to help you succeed can be very difficult. That's why we created this informational site.

I spent 25+ years as a sales manager. The job was given to me for same reasons you probably got yours -- you were a top sales producer. You got promoted and were sent off to deliver new and better results.

The only training was a pep talk from the Sales VP. It didn't take long to realize that this was a whole new ball game. Direct selling, the thing I was very good at, wasn't part of the equation.

As a newly minted manager, there was a whole slate of new things on my plate like hiring, training, coaching, and supporting teams of people who were now directly responsible for my success. My success was now tied to the success of the team.

I went from closing deals to developing and supporting a team and running a small business.

Over the years, it was a struggle to find the help and resources to get better and help me succeed. Too often it was "seat of the pants" guessing and hope I got it right.

A ton of time was wasted looking for information, both online and off-line, to help me in all the different areas of my job. There were two problems. First, there wasn't any single place that had all the information I desperately needed. Second, it seemed like no matter where I turned, good quality advice and information was not available without having to reach for my wallet.

There just had to a better way.

I was with a business partner recently bending his ear about this issue. You see, after 25 years there still wasn't a single place to get good reliable information. Over the years, the nature of my issues changed but the fact that solutions were hard to find never did.

"Wouldn't it be nice if there was one place where you could find the critical information you need to succeed?", I asked him.

We knocked the idea around a little and quickly realized between the two of us we had more than 55 years of combined professional experience in sales and sales management. In addition, we have worked with dozens of thought leaders in the field.

The end result of the conversation was the decision to develop this site. The vision of the site was a simple portal to:

"Provide the kind of tools, tips and resources a sales manager needs to build and run a successful sales team."

We took the best practices from our careers as well as those of our colleagues who have been successful. We captured them here for you to learn from and use. This site is the one place you can find answers to your critical questions.

There is solid information covering all of the critical disciplines of sales management including:

  •     Recruiting and Hiring
  •     Sales Training
  •     Managing Channels
  •     Opportunity Management
  •     Account Management
  •     CRM
  •     Sales Process
  •     Sales Compensation
  •     Coaching
  •     And More

The plan is to frequently continue to update the site. We will add information specific to the sales manager's role on a regular basis.

This is an opportunity for you to find all the information you need in one easy to use site.

Thank you for visiting the site!

Sales management is hard work, but it doesn't have to be a mystery.
